Frequently asked questions

What is a F1?

An F1 hybrid (or filial 1 hybrid) is the first filial generation of offspring of distinctly different parental types. F1 hybrids are used in genetics, and in selective breeding, where it may appear as F1crossbreed. The term is sometimes written with a subscript, as F1 hybrid. For instance, if I take two unrealted varietals (strains) like a Chiquita Banana Female and cross it with the pollen from a Zkittles male it will create a new F1 hybrid. A detailed video on Breeding can be found here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmFJzj8SteA&t=237s

Why shouldn't I Top, Chop or Mutilate F1's?

It is important NOT to chop, top, LST or otherwise mutilate F1 plants. Any stress may result in the process of Rhodelization which may cause hermaphroditeism.

How should I grow WSS?

Growing F1 genetics is much different than growing stabilized seeds. More care must be taken to avoid stress and potential hermaphroditism. Hermaphrodities are more likely to occur in a F1 that has been stressed. To avoid this we recommend a incrimental light schedule (See table beloe). This schedule more accurately mimicks the natural sun cycle and greatly reduces light stress or shock. Our recommended light schedule is.... Veg -16 hours Light/8 hours dark Flower- Start at 14 hours light and 10 hours dark (plants will flower under 14/10) Then remove a half hour a week from your timer until your hit 12/12. Allow 3 weeks at 12/12 then finish at sub 12/12 Flowering Schedule Week-------------------ON OFF 1-------------------------14-------------10 2-------------------------13.5---------- 10.5 3-------------------------13-------------11 4-------------------------12.5-----------11.5 5-------------------------12-------------12 6-------------------------12-------------12 7-------------------------12-------------12 8-------------------------11.5-----------12.5 9-------------------------11-------------13
